Google search data has shown that Canada is one of the most desired places for studying abroad.
Canada was the most-searched country for studying abroad out of 36 countries from India to Colombia. A company analyzed data by looking at monthly search volume for common terms such as “university in…” or “study in…” for 164 countries. Spain came in behind Canada, followed by England.
France was the top destination search for by Canadian students. The data also looked at searches for the top 2,000 ranked universities. The University of Toronto was the most searched Canadian university and was placed 7th in worldwide search interest. International enrollment in Canada had more than tripled over the past ten years, prior to the global pandemic. In the 2018-2019 school year, over 313,000 international students were enrolled in Canadian universities, compared to only 100,968 the decade earlier.
