The population growth that Canada experienced in the first quarter of the year marked the highest rate since 1990. This remarkable progress is because of the continued immigration into the country.
The 113,700 new immigrants welcomed in the first quarter of this year signified about 62% over the first quarter of 2021. The 2022 report also marks an increase of 64% over the same period in 2020.

In 2021, Canada surpassed its immigration target. It welcomed over 405,000 new residents in the year. Now, the country is on its way to achieving its target for the year. It welcomed over 431,645 new permanent residents. These records make it evident that Canada is making significant progress in achieving its immigration plan.
