Most People Moving to Canada in 1st Quarter Since 1946
The quarterly data report of new immigrants in Canada began back in 1946. Since the quarterly data became available, the first quarter of this year marked the highest number of new permanent residents to have been recorded in any quarter. About 113,699 immigrants were welcomed to live in Canada as new permanent residents in the year’s first quarter.
Canada Immigration Express stated that by the first three months of the year, Canada’s population was about 38.7 million. This report made by Statistics Canada noted that the number of people living in Canada rose by 0.3%.

Nunavut, located in Canada’s far north, has also made a mark in its population. This territory made a record-breaking gain by exceeding 40,000 people earlier this year.
