Optician Living in Canada Helps the Needy in Kenya

Dr. Bryan Todd has taken two mission trips, one to Belize in 2004 and one to Malawi in 2016, and is now planning a third. He will be taking 1,500 pairs of eyeglasses to give to those with poor eyesight. During his ten-day trip, he and another optician will be giving vision tests and handing out glasses to children living in Zawadi la Tumaini, a home in Nairobi. If you are considering relocating to Canada, contact Canada Immigration Express. The team of immigration experts they work with will make you aware of the options you have when immigrating to Canada.

Dr. Todd realizes people without good eyesight do not have much of a future to live better lives. Those living in poverty with poor eyesight can have a better opportunity in life when their vision is corrected with eyeglasses. While in Kenya, the opticians will be using a portable refracting unit attached to an iPhone to help determine the prescriptions. Once the prescription is determined, they will match it with a pair of glasses from their selection. Residents from Sudbury donated all of the eyeglasses they are taking on the trip.
